Our intention for group travel is to empower the community, respect Mother Nature and provide extraordinary personal experiences. We take pride in our commitment to hiring locally, compensating fairly, and prioritizing intimate connections for meaningful interactions. Itinerary

  • Day 1-4   (Boudhanath)

Landing in Nepal and dealing with jet lag can be overwhelming. We will spend a few days finding our feet, adjusting to the time change, and settling into our groove as a group. While we recover from travel, we’ll listen to Tibetan chants, visit the Women’s Foundation of Nepal, explore Nepali food, drink chai, and rest in the lovely gardens of our cozy guesthouse.

  • Day 5-6   (Pokhara)

We’ll make our way to Pokhara, a lovely town that serves as a gateway for trekking. Known for its laid-back vibe, walkable main street, serene lake, and abundance of cafés and shops, Pokhara is the perfect place to prepare. Here, we’ll get ready for 10 days of walking and meet our support team.

  • Day 7-15   (ANNAPURNA BASE CAMP TREK)

This is it — you and your feet, one step at a time! Nepal has created a wonderfully accessible way to trek from village to village, using tea houses for meals and rest. You’ll see how Nepalese people live and thrive in high mountain communities. Expect to be immersed in the healing energy of nature as we walk up and down hills and stairs, through forests, and take in breathtaking views of the Annapurna Range at both dusk and dawn.

This portion of the journey is where we will suggest a digital detox. You are welcome to unplug for the entire trip if you choose. While we strongly recommend it, it will never be enforced.

Note: We will be trekking anywhere from 4–7 hours per day, with many steep inclines and declines (“little bit up, little bit down,” as the Nepalese say). This hike can be challenging at times, and a moderate level of fitness is recommended.

  • Day 16-17   (Pokhara)

A shower has never felt so good! We’ll collect our extra bags, enjoy a delicious meal, and get some well-earned rest. There will be plenty of time to shop, relax, and explore the charming sights around Pokhara.

  • Day 18-19   (Bhaktapur)

Bhaktapur literally translates to Place of Devotees. Also known as Bhadgaon or Khwopa, it is an ancient Newar city located in the eastern corner of the Kathmandu Valley. Bhaktapur boasts not one, but three major squares filled with towering temples, showcasing some of the finest religious architecture in the country. Known for its wood carving, paper making, and pottery, Bhaktapur is an artistic paradise.

This is the final stop of our epic adventure. We’ll end our journey with a farewell group dinner before heading on our way.

  • Our Support Team for the Trek - Nepal

We have been working with a group of porters since 2017. They all live in the same village in Nepal, have worked together on other treks, and we have formed a strong bond with them; they feel like family! It has been very valuable to hire the same base crew consistently for each trip, as their experience and teamwork provide support and guidance for new team members. The porters are an integral part of our trek as they carry our main bags plus guide us on the trails. Our primary goal is to support local porters, who often bring along their friends or family members to join the team. We believe that fostering local communities not only enhances individual growth but also opens up new possibilities.

  • Accommodation - Nepal

We have selected accommodations that are well-run, comfortable, and known for good food and friendly, helpful staff. Accommodations range from very basic during the trek and in Boudhanath, to more comfortable and luxurious stays in Pokhara and Bhaktapur.

  • Food - Nepal

The staple diet in Nepal is Dal Bhat — a nourishing plate of lentils, rice, and curried vegetables that can be enjoyed twice daily and is a trekking essential. Tibetan influences bring momos (dumplings filled with meat or vegetables) and hearty noodle soups.

Most menus offer a blend of Indian curries, Tibetan dishes, and familiar Western options such as pizza, breakfasts, and fresh juices. Chai is enjoyed throughout the day, and cold soft drinks are widely available. Kathmandu and Pokhara are also home to excellent restaurants that cater to a wide range of tastes and cravings.

  • People & Culture - Nepal

Nepal is incredibly diverse for its size, with a rich mix of cultures, languages, and ethnic backgrounds. It is often described as having three main ethnic groups: Indo-Nepalese, Tibeto-Nepalese, and Indigenous Nepalese. Throughout the journey, you’ll encounter Hindu and Buddhist traditions, varied customs, dress, and landscapes.

The Nepalese people are known for being exceptionally kind, friendly, and welcoming, which is one of the many reasons travelers fall in love with this country.

  • Climate - Nepal

October and November are considered some of the best months to visit Nepal, offering clear mountain views and moderate daytime temperatures. Daytime temperatures typically range from 18–27°C, while evenings can be cooler, between 5–15°C.

Mountain weather can be unpredictable, and global weather patterns have been increasingly variable, so we recommend checking the forecast closer to departure.

  • What to bring - Nepal

We recommend bringing a 50–70 litre backpack, as suitcases can be difficult to manage. Although the trip is long, our best packing advice is to bring about half of what you think you need — less is truly more.

Laundry is available in most destinations, and forgotten essentials can usually be purchased locally. You’ll also want space for the beautiful treasures you’ll find along the way. A detailed packing list and trip guidebook will be sent prior to departure.

  • Money & Tipping - Nepal

While tipping is not traditionally Nepalese, it has become common with increased tourism. A 10% tip is greatly appreciated and goes a long way in supporting local staff.

  • Solo Travelers - Nepal

Solo travelers are more than welcome. Many guests join our trips on their own, and the relaxed group setting makes it easy to connect with like-minded people. On a Breathe in Life journey, you are always among friends.

    Accommodation options include:

    • Sharing a room with another solo traveler of the same sex
    • Requesting a private room for a reasonable surcharge
  • Extending your Trip - Nepal

If 19 days aren't enough, you may choose to extend your stay. Airline change policies vary, but extensions can usually be arranged for a reasonable fee. We’re happy to assist — and support your dreams of becoming a Himalayan mountain climber!

Email us at info@breatheinlife.com for assistance.

  • Digital Detox - Nepal

On this journey, we invite you to reduce the use of electronic devices such as smartphones and computers. This digital detox offers an opportunity to decrease stress, anxiety, tech dependency, and information overload.

By unplugging from the noise of everyday life, we create space to reconnect with ourselves, strengthen relationships, and move forward with greater clarity, purpose, and presence.
