WE TRAVEL CONSCIOUSLY

Breathe in Life travel was created to combine adventure, wellness and culture in every trip. Our intention for group travel is to empower  community, respect Mother Nature and provide extraordinary personal experiences. We take pride in our commitment to hire locally and compensate fairly - from guides, guesthouses, foundations and drivers - we choose intimate connections, ensuring meaningful and specialized attention. Showcasing local producers and grassroots organizations is an essential aspect of each trip. Our goal is to emphasize shopping carefully, supporting locally made goods. Nature is the backdrop of all our trips, and we feel a significant responsibility to minimize our footprint while visiting a country. An important step in this endeavour: have safe drinking water available at all accommodations refraining from the need to buy plastic water bottles. Every adventure has been researched by our team to provide you with a unique and memorable trip. Our group travel pledge is to be considerate and respectful with one another while creating our travel family. Your Breathe in Life team aspires to accommodate all your individual requests and specific needs, allowing you to feel safe, supported and fulfilled on your excursion.

Travel expands our view of the world plus challenges us in various ways. It truly is a growing and thrilling experience to leave the comforts of home behind and dive deep into different cultures. We recognize that it is a privilege to have adequate time and resources to travel. Thank-you for choosing Breathe in Life - celebrating diversity, wonder and a conscientiousness approach to world explorations with us!

Itinerary

  • Day 1-3   (Boudhanath)

Landing in Nepal and jet-leg can be overwhelming. We will spend a few days finding our feet, adjusting to time change and finding our groove as a group. While we recover from travel, listen to Tibetans chant, visit the Women Foundation of Nepal, explore Nepali food, drink chai, and rest in the lovely gardens at our cozy guesthouse.

  • Day 4-5   (Pokhara)

We will find our way to Pokhara, a lovely spot that prepares for trekking. Known for it’s chill out vibe, one street to walk on, serene lake and multiple cafes and shops. We get ourselves ready for 10 days of walking and meet our support team here.

  • Day 6-11   (Trekking part of the Annapurna Range)

This is it! You and your feet, one step at a time - Nepal has created a very convenient way to trek from village to village using teahouses as a place to eat and rest. See how Nepalese live and survive in the mountains, enjoy the healing vibes of nature, walk up and down hills and hopefully view the Annapurna Range at dusk and dawn. This hike is where we will suggest the digital detox. You can detox from electronics the entire duration of the trip if you choose, and we highly suggest it but we will not enforce anything. *Note* We will be trekking anywhere from 4-8 hrs a day and there will be many steep inclines and declines ("little bit up, little bit down" as the Nepalese say). This hike is challenging at times, and a moderate level of fitness is suggested.

  • Day 12-14   (Pokhara)

A shower never felt so good! We will pick up extra bags, eat a lovely meal and sleep. There will be plenty of time to shop, rest and explore the sweet sights around Pokhara.

  • Day 15-17   (Bhaktapur)

Bhaktapur, literally translates to Place of devotees. Also known as Bhadgaon or Khwopa, it is an ancient Newar city in the east corner of the Kathmandu Valley. Bhaktapur has not one but three major squares full of towering temples that comprise some of the finest religious architecture in the entire country. Bhaktapur is known for wood carving, paper making, and pottery - an artistic paradise! This is the last stop of this epic adventure. We will end with a farewell group dinner and we are on our way!

  • Accommodation - Nepal

We have selected accommodations that are well-run, comfortable, and known for good food and friendly, helpful staff. Accommodations range from very basic during the trek and in Boudhanath, to more comfortable and luxurious stays in Pokhara and Bhaktapur.

  • Food - Nepal

The staple diet in Nepal is Dal Bhat — a nourishing plate of lentils, rice, and curried vegetables that can be enjoyed twice daily and is a trekking essential. Tibetan influences bring momos (dumplings filled with meat or vegetables) and hearty noodle soups.

Most menus offer a blend of Indian curries, Tibetan dishes, and familiar Western options such as pizza, breakfasts, and fresh juices. Chai is enjoyed throughout the day, and cold soft drinks are widely available. Kathmandu and Pokhara are also home to excellent restaurants that cater to a wide range of tastes and cravings.

  • People & Culture - Nepal

Nepal is incredibly diverse for its size, with a rich mix of cultures, languages, and ethnic backgrounds. It is often described as having three main ethnic groups: Indo-Nepalese, Tibeto-Nepalese, and Indigenous Nepalese. Throughout the journey, you’ll encounter Hindu and Buddhist traditions, varied customs, dress, and landscapes.

The Nepalese people are known for being exceptionally kind, friendly, and welcoming, which is one of the many reasons travelers fall in love with this country.

  • Climate - Nepal

October and November are considered some of the best months to visit Nepal, offering clear mountain views and moderate daytime temperatures. Daytime temperatures typically range from 18–27°C, while evenings can be cooler, between 5–15°C.

Mountain weather can be unpredictable, and global weather patterns have been increasingly variable, so we recommend checking the forecast closer to departure.

  • What to bring - Nepal

We recommend bringing a 50–70 litre backpack, as suitcases can be difficult to manage. Although the trip is long, our best packing advice is to bring about half of what you think you need — less is truly more.

Laundry is available in most destinations, and forgotten essentials can usually be purchased locally. You’ll also want space for the beautiful treasures you’ll find along the way. A detailed packing list and trip guidebook will be sent prior to departure.

  • Money & Tipping - Nepal

While tipping is not traditionally Nepalese, it has become common with increased tourism. A 10% tip is greatly appreciated and goes a long way in supporting local staff.

  • Solo Travelers - Nepal

Solo travelers are more than welcome. Many guests join our trips on their own, and the relaxed group setting makes it easy to connect with like-minded people. On a Breathe in Life journey, you are always among friends.

    Accommodation options include:

    • Sharing a room with another solo traveler of the same sex
    • Requesting a private room for a reasonable surcharge
  • Extending your Trip - Nepal

If 19 days aren't enough, you may choose to extend your stay. Airline change policies vary, but extensions can usually be arranged for a reasonable fee. We’re happy to assist — and support your dreams of becoming a Himalayan mountain climber!

Email us at info@breatheinlife.com for assistance.

  • Digital Detox - Nepal

On this journey, we invite you to reduce the use of electronic devices such as smartphones and computers. This digital detox offers an opportunity to decrease stress, anxiety, tech dependency, and information overload.

By unplugging from the noise of everyday life, we create space to reconnect with ourselves, strengthen relationships, and move forward with greater clarity, purpose, and presence.
